TYPE: Single-seat ultralight kitbuilt.

PROGRAMME: Derived from Pioneer Flightstar II. Can conform to FAR Pt 103.

CURRENT VERSIONS: Spyder: Standard version, as described.
Formula: High-performance upgraded model with wider windscreen and cockpit doors for cold weather flying; now discontinued.

CUSTOMERS: Total of 112 kits sold, and 110 flying, by mid-2001.

COSTS: Spyder US$10,995 without engine (2003).

DESIGN FEATURES: Flightstar FS-I-2 aerofoil. Wings fold for storage and transportation. Optional BRS parachute recovery system.

FLYING CONTROLS: As Flightstar IISL.

STRUCTURE: As Flightstar IISL.

LANDING GEAR: As Flightstar IISL.

POWER PLANT: One 31.0 kW (41.6 hp) Rotax 447 UL-2V driving Tennessee two-blade or three-blade propeller. Options include 37.0 kW (49.6 hp) Rotax 503 UL-2V and 47.8 kW (64.1 hp) Rotax 582 UL. Standard fuel capacity 18.9 litres (5.0 US gallons; 4.2 Imp gallons); optionally 37.9 litres (10.0 US gallons; 8.3 Imp gallons).
