TYPE: Side-by-side ultralight.

PROGRAMME: Prototype construction began July 1996; first flight March 1997. Uprated Golf 100 added in 1999.

CURRENT VERSIONS: P96 Golf 80: Ultralight version.
P96 Golf 100: Higher-powered ultralight version.

CUSTOMERS: The 200th Golf registered in Canada (C-ITEC) in February 2002; by December 2002 this figure had risen to 277.

DESIGN FEATURES: Emphasis on reduction of aerodynamic drag without compromising cost. Fuselage cross-sectional area allows easy access for taller occupants by reducing the height of structural carry-through elements. Wing lower surface and fuselage bottom are flush, obviating interference drag and complex fairings. Wing-to-fuselage point optimised by strakes at wingroots. Many parts common to P92 Echo.

FLYING CONTROLS: Manual. Frise ailerons; all-moving tailplane with anti-balance tab; electrically actuated flaps cover half of trailing-edge. Ground-adjustable tab on port aileron and rudder.

STRUCTURE: Fuselage includes a composites spine that follows through to the tailfin and keeps wetted area to a minimum while allowing for good pressure recovery aft of canopy. All-moving horizontal tail reduces drag to a minimum and provides optimum longitudinal stability for stick-free operation. Wing has 5o dihedral. Fabric-covered flaps, ailerons and tailplane; metal rudder.

LANDING GEAR: Fixed tricycle type; hydraulic disc brakes operated from single hand lever in cockpit. Levered suspension nosewheel leg; nosewheel steered by rudder pedals. Mainwheels 5.00-5, nosewheel 4.00-6. Speed fairings.

POWER PLANT: Golf 80: One 59.6 kW (79.9 hp) Rotax 912 UL flat-four engine with integrated reduction gear (1:2.27), driving a GT-2/173/155 single-piece two-blade wooden propeller.
Golf 100: 73.5 kW (98.6 hp) Rotax 912 ULS. Propeller as Golf 80.
Fuel capacity (both) 70 litres (18.5 US gallons; 15.4 Imp gallons).

ACCOMMODATION: Two seats side by side; baggage space behind seats. Fixed windscreen; canopy slides backwards on guiderails and can be opened with engine on and during flight. Full dual controls and twin throttles.

SYSTEMS: 100 W 12 V alternator and battery.

AVIONICS: To customer's requirements; provision for nav/com radio.

EQUIPMENT: Junkers ballistic parachute.
